Boiling for a cause
COLUMBUS, Miss., (WCBI) – For the past 12 years, Muddy Water Creative has hosted the Northside Charity Boil, raising money for the Golden Triangle Homeless Coalition.
Crawfish, live music, and a cause, Muddy Water Creative, wrapped up crawfish season with its 12th annual Northside Charity Boil this Memorial Day weekend.
The event featured live bands, games for kids, and plenty of food for the community.
Organizers say that while the event is free, donations help support the Golden Triangle Homeless Coalition.
“It’s free, but we do encourage donations since it benefits the homeless coalition. Even if you can’t give, just come out, enjoy the food, and support the cause.”
Ten bags of crawfish—along with food from local restaurants and neighbors-kept the crowd fed throughout the afternoon.
Community members say the cause is more important than ever.
“The homeless coalition does a lot for this area. With costs going up, more people need help, and this brings awareness.”
Organizers say events like this help both raise money and connect people with local resources.
Entertainment included performances from several local artists throughout the day.
