State of Alabama to host “Free Fishing Day” for residents and out-of-state visitors

ALABAMA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – If you want to test the waters in Alabama, mark this on Saturday, June 13, on your calendar.
The State of Alabama is hosting “Free Fishing Day” for residents and out-of-state visitors.
The event allows residents and non-residents to fish for free in most public waters, including freshwater and saltwater, without having to buy a fishing license.
There are some exclusions and conditions. Alabama’s State Public Fishing Lakes still require a permit. If you’re planning on fishing in a private pond or lake, you will need the owner’s permission, and some piers may require fees or permits.
