Cummins newest inductee of MSU’s Insurance Hall of Fame

STARKVILLE, Miss. (PRESS RELEASE) – According to a press release, Mississippi State recently inducted Coleman Cummins, regional vice president of EMC Insurance Companies, into the MSU Insurance Hall of Fame.
The recognition was presented during MSU’s 38th Annual Insurance Day, hosted by the university’s Risk Management and Insurance Program in the College of Business. The MSU Insurance Hall of Fame honors individuals whose leadership and contributions have advanced the insurance industry.
A veteran of the insurance industry for more than 30 years, the Brandon resident has been a dedicated supporter of MSU’s RMI program and its annual Insurance Day event. As regional vice president for EMC Insurance Companies, he has played an instrumental role in expanding the company’s presence throughout the Deep South from its regional office in Jackson.
While many insurance carriers concentrate regional operations in larger metropolitan markets, Cummins has helped strengthen EMC’s commitment to Mississippi and neighboring states, fostering relationships that have benefited independent agents, insurance professionals and communities throughout the region. Insurance has long been a family tradition for Cummins, whose family’s involvement in the profession spans four generations—from his grandfather and father to the next generation, including two nephews working in the industry.
Approximately 300 insurance professionals and industry representatives attended this year’s Insurance Day activities, which included continuing education sessions, a golf tournament and a reception at Dudy Noble Field. For more than three decades, the annual event has attracted professionals from across the Southeast for networking, professional development and discussions on current industry issues.
