Oxford Police Department reminds community about airsoft gun safety
OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI) – Kids are out for the summer, and that means they’ve got a lot more time on their hands.
In Oxford, the police department is reminding parents and children that harmless fun can turn dangerous fast.
This week, officers responded to two separate incidents involving minors carrying airsoft guns that resemble firearms.
The department said these can be mistaken for a real gun when officers are responding to a situation that is alarming to the public.
OPD encourages parents to have a conversation with their children about good decision-making and how one poor decision can have major consequences.
