East Columbus gym to finally reopen next week
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – After months of renovations, the East Columbus gym is finally reopening.
The “Grand Reopening” is set for Wednesday, June 17.
The gym has new paint, a new floor, and roof.
In the past, storms damaged the gym roof, causing it to leak.
The water then damaged the gym floor.
Ward 2 Councilman Roderick Smith says the gym is a hub for the entire community and serves as a safe place for the youth.
Gym doors open at 10 am on June 17.
