Cooler Temps & PM Storms South

COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI)- Rain chances stick around today for our southern counties while northern counties look to be dry.

MONDAY: A warm front will maintain a boundary between dry & wet weather for today as it parks right across Highway 82. Areas to the north should expect just cloud cover while areas along and south of Highway 82 can look forward to scattered showers and storms as we get into the afternoon. Highs are cool today, reaching only into the mid 80s.

TONIGHT: Scattered showers continue overnight. Lows dropping down into the upper 60s.

TRACKING THE TROPICS: Watching an area of low pressure in Northeast Mexico as it moves back into The Gulf within the next couple of days. Recent model trends have it moving into the Southeast United States late Wednesday/Thursday which potentially can bring us a good soaking for Northeast Mississippi and West Alabama on Thursday and Friday. Still a good bit away before confidence grows, but it is something to keep in mind for any plans late in the work week!
