MHP State Troopers release totals during holiday weekend
MISSISSIPPI (WCBI) – State Troopers with the Mississippi Highway Patrol were hard at work during the holiday weekend.
Statewide, troopers worked 110 crashes that’s 20 more than last year at this time.
Two of those, one on Highway 98 in Marion County on Friday and one on Highway 302 in DeSoto County on Saturday, resulted in fatalities.
The two deaths are one more than last year’s July 4th Enforcement Period.
This year’s Holiday Travel Period started Friday and ran through midnight last night.
