Broadway Street to be closed for Cupola removal in Tupelo
TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – If your Saturday plans include a trip into Downtown Tupelo, you may need to plan for a detour, and maybe a crowd.
Broadway Street between West Jefferson and Court Streets will be closed from 7 am until 3 pm.
The reason they may draw a crowd? The closure is so that workers using a crane can remove the cupola from the old Lee County Courthouse.
The architectural feature is being taken down so it can be refurbished off-site.
