Central Oktibbeha Fire Department receives new fire truck

OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Oktibbeha County’s fire protection is getting a big boost.

The Central Oktibbeha Fire Department has taken delivery of a new fire truck.

With the new vehicle, firefighters will be able to access more remote scenes in their response area, and it will be equipped for structure or grass fires.

With wait times for new apparatus being up to five years and a new rig costing a minimum of $500,000, Central Oktibbeha was fortunate to get the truck in a short time.

The department sold a truck, which allowed them to buy the new one without further cost to the county.

The new vehicle doesn’t just benefit the firefighters; it helps homeowners too.
