Wet Weather on the Way
COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) — Conditions will be mostly sunny to start the day, but some wet and rainy weather is on the way to wrap up the week.
THURSDAY: The high temperature for today is 94°. It will be mostly sunny for much of the day, but we can’t rule out the possibility of an isolated shower or two coming across parts of our area later in the day. It will also be a bit windy out there at times. Sustained winds will be from the south-southeast at 5 to 15 miles per hour. Gusts could get up to 20 mph at times.
THURSDAY NIGHT: The low temperature will be around 70° — a bit warmer than the past few nights have been. Skies will be partly cloudy, with winds out of the south-southeast at 5 mph.
FRIDAY: Tomorrow’s high temperature will be around 93°. However, rising humidity will push the heat index closer to 99°. While the earlier hours will be mostly sunny, some wet and stormy conditions will move into northeast Mississippi later in the afternoon and evening. This rain will be widely scattered in nature. However, it is still likely that many of us will see a shower pass overhead going into the weekend. Winds will start calm but increase to 5 mph out of the south-southeast later in the day.
