A Warm Welcome to October

COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) – The 90’s continue on into the first week of October bringing lots of sunshine with it.

TONIGHT & TOMORROW – Comfortable overnights will remain as drier air has now moved in. The low tonight will get down into the low 60’s and upper 50’s for some. Tomorrow will be nice and dry with a side of low 90’s in October. While the 90’s are unwanted, again the drier air will help make it feel more manageable.

THIS WEEK – The forecast doesn’t change too much for the rest of this week before the weekend. The low 90’s are expected until the weekend with lots of dry weather and sunshine. Overnight lows will stay pleasant in the low 60’s and upper 50’s.

TROPICS – There is currently an area of disturbance in the SW corner of the Gulf. The National Hurricane Center has given this area a 60% chance of development in the next 2 days and an 80% chance for the next 7 days. The area has the slightest rotation to it currently, with potential for movement to the NE towards the Gulf coast. This could bring higher rain chances to northern Mississippi by the weekend.
