Adult and child killed in Highway 50 crash

CLAY COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A 10-year-old was one of two people killed in a head-on crash on Highway 50 in Clay County Monday morning.

According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 8 AM.

A 2014 Hyundai Sonata driven by 51-year-old Caroline Frasca of Columbus was travelling east when it collided with a 2016 Ford Fusion driven by a 17-year-old, heading west.

There were 3 passengers in the Fusion, a 15-year-old, 13-year-old, and a 10-year-old.

Frasca and the 10 year-old passenger in the Fusion received fatal injuries and died at the scene.

The driver of the Fusion was airlifted to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. The 15-year-old was airlifted to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, and the 13-year-old was taken to Baptist Golden Triangle. Their conditions are unknown at this time.

MHP is investigating the crash.
