Scary Halloween could make for a Merrier Christmas
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A very scary October can help make for very Merry Christmas for some area families.
The Community Benefit Committee and Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office are gearing up for “Horror at the Fairgrounds”.
The annual haunted house is the Community Benefit Committee’s major fundraiser. And, if you’re a fan of haunted houses, it doesn’t fail to provide plenty of thrills, chills, and scares.
This year’s event also features a Haunted Hayride.
And the three nights of frights do a lot of good in Lowndes County, providing for Christmas presents for children in Foster Care, Thanksgiving turkeys, and other things for those in need.
“If we didn’t raise the money, things are expensive now, if we didn’t raise the money, through this haunted house, we couldn’t afford, be able to afford, to provide toys, bikes, even food, and necessities for needy families. We use this money for a lot of stuff.” said Lieutenant Rhonda Sanders of the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office.
“Horror at the Fairgrounds” runs from October 29th through the 31st, Halloween.
Tickets are $10 for the Haunted House and $5 for the Haunted Hayride.
All of the proceeds go to the Community Benefit Committee’s projects.
