CEO gives one-year check-up on Baptist Memorial Oktibbeha County
STARKVILLE, Miss. – It has been just over a year since Baptist memorial healthcare purchased the former OCH Regional Medical Center.
Today, the CEO of what is now Baptist memorial healthcare of Oktibbeha County, Mac Flynt, met with the Starkville Rotary Club to talk about where the corporation is after year one.
“We’re just talking about some of the successes we’ve had in some of those key areas that we’re focusing on in regard to integration in the back,” said Flynt. “Just getting that playbook installed. And then starting to sharpen the pencil with epic improving patient care and the quality, and how we deliver care, becoming a path of least resistance for local providers as well as those within our region. And becoming a hospital that can care for higher complexity patients.”
The corporation purchased the former OCH Regional Medical Center on October 1st of last year. Growth has been moving steadily, and plans point towards strengthening the location inside the system, as well as for locals.
“In the future, we plan to continue strengthening our workforce,” said Flynt. “Whether that’s through retention or recruiting, we want to be able to add more services, especially in sub, especially across the system. We want to close. A lot of covers, gaps that allow patients here locally to remain here locally and get their treatment.”
The presentation was seen as a success by both sides with hopes for a healthy community.
