Dry, Dry, and More Dry

COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) – The dry spell is not going anywhere. There is no rain in sight for days.

TONIGHT & TOMORROW – Cool, crisp overnight lows continue tonight reaching into the mid 40’s. Clear conditions persist from the evening and into the next day. With little rain and cloud cover, temps will be able to warm into the low 80’s.

THROUGH THE WEEKEND – Temperatures will dip very slightly heading into the weekend. A wedge between a ridge and a trough will help tunnel colder air into northeast Mississippi. Temps lower into the low 80’s Friday and into the upper 70’s Saturday and Sunday. The dry weather will continue, making the weekend nice and sunny.

FIRE DANGER – While there are no watches or warnings in effect for fire danger, it is still a concern across southern and central Mississippi. Be weary of how you extinguish cigarette butts, where you start a fire, and pay attention to burn bans in your area.
