Tupelo’s Celebration Village supports Sanctuary Hospice House

COLUMBUS, Miss (WCBI)- It is a chance to get all of your Christmas shopping done, under one roof, and help a non profit at the same time.

The 24th “Celebration Village” is underway at the Tupelo Furniture Market. The annual Christmas marketplace features vendors selling home goods, clothes, arts and crafts, sporting goods, food
and other items.

Proceeds from ticket sales and vendor’s fees go to help support the work of Sanctuary Hospice House. The non profit ministry provides quality, compassionate , end of life care, either in a
patient’s home, or at the Sanctuary Hospice House, in west Tupelo.

Heather Palmer is director of outreach and fundraising for Sanctuary Hospice. She says Celebration Village is not only a great outlet for vendors and an opportunity for local shoppers to get unique gifts, but also plays a vital role helping the ministry carry out its mission.

It is huge, being our biggest fundraising event, it helps offset our operations deficit each year of over 1 point eight million dollars. And taking care of over ten thousand patients, we do things like this so we will be here, long after you and I have retired, to take care of the next ten thousand.”

Celebration Village runs daily through Saturday.
