Active Weather To Start Next Week!

COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI)- After a beautiful weekend, active weather looks to come back to start next week, with severe weather risks taking place for Monday & Tuesday.

TONIGHT: Some passing clouds will move in during the overnight hours. A slight shower is possible but most should stay dry with lows dropping down to a comfortable 63.

MONDAY: Most of the area is under a (1/5) Marginal Risk of severe storms with portions of Tippah and Alcorn counties to the far north seeing a (2/5) Slight Risk. The main storm timing looks to take place during the overnight hours and for areas along and north of I-20. Damaging winds look to be the primary concern, but a low chance of tornadoes remains in play.

TUESDAY: The threat of severe weather continues for Tuesday as most of the area is under a level (2/5) Slight Risk. Larger instability values and stronger upper level winds will allow for more widespread and strong thunderstorm activity during Tuesday afternoon and through the overnight hours. Make sure to have multiple ways to receive warnings such as emergency alerts turned ON for your phone and a weather radio ready on standby, especially with many of these storms taking place during the overnight hours when many are asleep.
