Alabama voters head to the polls for special primary election

ALABAMA (WCBI) – Alabama voters are going to the polls today for a special primary election.

This comes months after the state legislature redrew four of the seven congressional districts, including Districts 1,2, 6, and 7.

In District 7, including Pickens County, there is only a republican primary.

The current Representative and democrat Terri Sewell is running unopposed.

Republicans Ammie Akin and David Perry are on the ballot for the district.

Polls close at 7 pm.
