Aliceville opens cooling station

ALICEVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – With temperatures continuing to rise this week, the City of Aliceville is opening a cooling station for residents who need to beat the heat.

Cool air and water will be available at the National Guard Armory in town.

Mayor Terrence Windham encourages residents to check on their neighbors, especially those who may be more vulnerable to the heat, like senior citizens.

He said the station will be open until Friday evening.

Each night, it will close around 7 as the sun begins to set.

WCBI will update you if the station will be open for more days.
