All space is sold out at the Summer Tupelo Furniture Market
TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – It is near lunchtime, and Correy Arnaud and his team at Ardent Home are greeting buyers.
“Our reps have some pretty good size customers coming,” Arnaud said.
It’s the first time Ardent Home has set up at the Tupelo Furniture Market. Arnaud says with the solid reputation of the Eunice Louisiana based company, it made sense to show at the Tupelo Market, even if market officials had to make an extra space in building five.
Arnaud says his distribution business is thriving and showing at Tupelo will help get Ardent Home’s products in front of even more people. They are even considering having a permanent showroom in Tupelo.
‘We are looking forward to new people coming in and have some customers coming who haven’t seen our product in quite some time, looking forward to big things in the up and coming days,” Arnaud said.
All available spaces for this market are sold. The market takes place in Building Five, and features vendors from around the southeast.
At the Climatic Home Products space, reps were busy making deals with customers. It’s the South Carolina-based distributor’s first time to show at the Tupelo Market. It is also the first time in years that appliances have been part of the products on display. District Sales Manager Lori Baldwin says it is all about finding out what the clients want for their stores.
‘With everything else, it is kind of up and down, sometimes when stores that sell both products, sometimes furniture might not be selling quite as well, and it flips to appliances, it has been pretty busy lately, and we hope it keeps getting better,” Baldwin said.
Adam Cleveland is chief operating officer for the market and says optimism is strong. He believes the furniture industry is poised for even more robust growth, especially with more companies bringing their manufacturing back to the U S.
And he says the Tupelo market remains popular, because of its location and laid-back atmosphere.
‘All of our customers are friends and family, that get to come home and see people they see twice a year, and don’t necessarily have time to see people and shop with when they are at some of the larger venues,” Cleveland said.
The market wraps up Thursday, and organizers expect strong attendance, right up until the final orders are placed.
The Tupelo Furniture Market is closed to the public. It is only for registered buyers, vendors, distributors and those in the furniture industry.
