Another round of rain Friday night into Saturday

COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) – A stalling front means at least another rain event is possible Friday night into Saturday. Gradual drying and cooling is expected into next week.

FRIDAY: Showers in the morning should slowly move out, leaving the midday and afternoon hours dry and increasingly mild and humid. Highs should top out in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees, and dew point temps may climb into the 60s as well. This will make it feel noticeably more humid compared to recent days.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Another wave of low pressure is expected to send more moisture northward from the Gulf. This should mean additional rain chances late this evening into the overnight hours. Some of the rain could be heavy.

SATURDAY: Rain is expected to persist into Saturday, tapering after lunch. With widespread clouds and rain, highs will hold in the lower to middle 60s.

SUNDAY: Clouds may be slow to clear, but we don’t expect much if any rain to continue into Sunday.

NEXT WEEK: Another front should swing through the region Tuesday, ushering in colder air for mid-week. For now, we don’t expect any rain for most of next week.
