Beautiful Blue Skies

COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) — Today is sure to look like a pleasant day, with lots of sunshine and blue skies, but it will feel very warm out there, with temperatures remaining in the mid-90s.

WEDNESDAY: The high temperature will get to around 95°. Clear, sunny skies sticking around all day long will bring those heat index values up a bit more, up to around 99° in the Golden Triangle, and even warmer than that towards the northwest. A Heat Advisory remains in effect for this afternoon in Yalobusha and Lafayette counties, with heat indices expected to get to 105°. Winds are out of the southeast at 5 mph.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Overnight will be mostly clear, with east-southeasterly winds at 5 mph becoming calm towards sunrise. The low temperature will be 72°.

THURSDAY: There is a very small chance for some isolated showers, but there will be nice blue skies for most of the day, with just a few passing clouds. The high temperature will be around 98°, with a maximum heat index around 103. Winds will be southerly at around 5 mph.
