Caledonia High School holds a day of food and fun for students

CALEDONIA, Miss. (WCBI) – A year’s worth of hard work pays off with a day of food and fun for students at Caledonia High School.
Today, students took time away from their books and computers to get outside and enjoy a field day.
It was a celebration of the school’s 4th consecutive year as an A-Rated school.
A lot goes into achieving and maintaining the A-Rating, including proficiency and growth on annual state tests, student ACT scores, and the school’s graduation rate.
But Principal Gregory Elliott said what it really takes is good, committed people at every level.
“You gotta have a good school. You gotta have a great staff, good kids, good parents, great community, and, you know, I would tell you Caledonia is probably one of the top schools in the whole state,” said Elliott.
This was Caledonia’s 4th consecutive A-Rating, and they’re shooting for 5 in a row. Elliott said if they hit that mark, they’ll have to figure out how to make next year’s celebration bigger.
