City Christmas tree now up in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) –  It’s time to trim the tree in Columbus.

City workers got some help from the Columbus Fire Department to put up the official city Christmas tree Monday morning.

The Columbus City Council voted in October to purchase the artificial Christmas Tree.

The 22-foot tall tree is pre-lit, custom-built, and can be added to in the future.

It’s being set up next to the Tennessee Williams Birthplace.

A local business is covering the cost of the tree.

The city will host a Christmas Tree Lighting November 27th at 5:30pm.
