Columbus women create Crystals, Beads, and Friendships

COLUMBUS, Miss., (WCBI) – At the Columbus Air Force Base’s Freedom Fest, you could find an assortment of things, from a Kids Zone to an electric truck. At Freedom Fest, among the many eclectic vendors was Nancy Donahoo.

Donahoo of Columbus and her sister-in-law and business partner, Minerva Davis, own Crystals, Beads, and Friendship. The two make glass-beaded flowers and trees, bracelets, rings, and more.

Saturday, Donahoo was manning their station while staying cool. She says the two, one is disabled and the other a veteran, went into business about two years ago.

“I have a partner, and she does all the beautiful glass beads, trees, and flowers, and everything. I do a lot of the bracelets and things like that,” Donahoo said.

Donahoo says they just began hitting the festival circuits, and it’s been steady. Although early in the day when we spoke with her, she was hoping many people would come out.

And the cooler it got, the more people began to come and celebrate America’s 250th. She says that her sister-in-law has been making beaded and glass crafts for years.

And she recently decided to join her.
