Community leaders serve over 700 Thanksgiving meals in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Community leaders in Columbus fed plenty of people on the east side of the city.

The Elks Lodge sponsored the Thanksgiving Feed the People Campaign to continue the legacy of Annie Barry.

Volunteers made up of The National Pan Hellenic Council of the Golden Triangle and local community members handed out and delivered Thanksgiving plates.

“It’s not our first rodeo and we’ve always taken care of the community. And what we did today was in Incorporated whatever Ms. Baron was doing Southside, Sandfield, Frog Bottom, all of Columbus,” said Johnny T, Hampton, Sr., Organizer.

“Wherever there was a need. We at The Elks Lodge thank you for sponsoring us for being here. Johnny Hampton myself, We also had the fraternity and sororities we had Good Deed. We had so many people so many volunteers. Thank you guys so much,” said Sherry Ellis, Organizer.

Over 700 plates were provided from the Elks Lodge.
