Cool and dry to start the week

COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) – A cold front passed late on Sunday. It will drop temperatures to freezing tonight and keep afternoon highs in the low-50s on both Monday and Tuesday. A warming trend begins on Wednesday and will last through the end of the week – 60s return to the forecast on Thursday! Rain chances come back on Friday and last through the weekend.

SUNDAY NIGHT: A northwest wind will usher in cold air tonight. Combined with clearing skies, temperatures will drop into the low-30s, if not the upper-20s in spots. Patchy frost is possible.

MONDAY: The week will start off on a cool note. High temperatures will only reach 50 degrees under mostly sunny skies. Wind gusts could reach 15mph.

MONDAY NIGHT: Temperatures will tick down a few more degrees Monday night. Widespread lows in the upper-20s are expected.

TUESDAY: Tuesday will be similar to Monday. Highs will peak near 53 with plentiful sunshine.

REST OF THE WEEK: A warming trend will begin Wednesday and last through the weekend. Highs in the 60s make a comeback on Thursday. Rain returns on Friday and will continue through the weekend.
