Cooler Wednesday with occasional rain

COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) – Occasional rain or drizzle continues Wednesday with cooler air. A slow rebound in temperature will occur to close out the work week.

WEDNESDAY: An area of low pressure continues to spin over the northern Gulf, pulling in extra moisture to parts of the region. While the best coverage of rain stays outside of our area, occasional showers or areas of drizzle will continue with highs in the upper 50s. Isolated showers could stick around overnight as well.

THU/FRI: A few showers could linger into Thursday morning, but the rest of the day looks dry with some clearing. Highs return to the upper 60s, potentially higher if more clearing occurs after lunch. A few more showers could show up Friday evening as a cold front moves through the region.

WEEKEND: We expect a good supply of sun over the weekend with highs in the middle 60s. Some frost is likely Sunday morning w/temps in the 30s.

NEXT WEEK: Another system is set to move through early in the week, hopefully bringing more rain chances Monday & Tuesday.
