Death toll from winter storm Fern rises in Mississippi

MISSISSIPPI (WCBI) – The death toll from Winter Storm Fern has risen to seven in Mississippi.

Three deaths were reported in Tate County in the last 24 hours.

There are still around 117,000 homes and businesses without power across the state.

That’s down from a high of 180,000.

And, MEMA has received reports of 208 homes, five businesses, and seven farms damaged statewide.

There are also 68 warming centers operating in 35 counties.
