Downtown Aliceville to be under construction for the next few months

ALICEVILLE, Ala. (WCBI) – In the first phase of renovations, old water lines are being replaced.

And in the second phase, crews are doing street repairs.

Mayor Terrence Windham says portions of Broad Street will be changed from concrete to asphalt.

He says they also plan to add city logos to the road.

The Applachian Regional Commission and The Alabama Department of Transportation helped fund the downtown improvements.

Each entitty awarded the city with a 300-thousand-dollar grant.

Construction started today. City leaders say drivers should expect delays as streets close for renovations.
