Golden Triangle Theatre Executive Director shares successes with Lowndes Co. Community leaders
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Five and a half years into its run, the Golden Triangle Theatre continues to expand its presence in the area arts scene.
The group’s Executive Director, Garrett Torbert, shared some of the theatre’s successes with Lowndes County business and community leaders today.
Among other things, GTT is bolstering Arts education in area public schools with its All For One outreach.
All For One takes theatre education into Hunt Intermediate and Cook Elementary Schools in Columbus, Henderson-Ward Stewart Elementary in Starkville, and West Clay Elementary in Clay County.
There is also an after-school program for students from first through 12th grades.
It’s not all about the kids. There are also numerous opportunities for adults, and the main stage shows feature actors of all ages.
Torbert says the community support has been outstanding, and that’s what keeps them going.
“I’m very grateful to this community, and the support that they have shown to me and my vision, and what I would love for it to be for years going beyond what it is now, and that I am just grateful for that,” said Garrett.
