Heat and Isolated Rain

COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) – Heat and isolated rain sounds a lot like summer, but it’s September.

TONIGHT – Overnight lows will continue to be above average in the low 70’s where the average this time of year is the upper 60’s. Conditions will be calm and mostly clear for any activities tonight.

TOMORROW – Thursday will be much like the rest; upper 90’s and sunny. The humidity is not as much as it is in the summer, so even with air temps in the upper 90’s, the Heat Index won’t rise much past 105. The day will still feel very hot with the sunshine out, take care of yourself outside!

GAME DAYS – Rain chances do start to have a slight uptick Friday and slightly more Saturday. High temperatures will continue to rise closer to the 100 mark, but will fall into low 70’s again at night. For high school games Friday night, expect uncomfortable temps and potentially a small shower. If you’re headed to Oxford Saturday, temperatures will continue to feel unbearable, but no wash outs are expected during the game, maybe a quick shower.
