Heat Dome is holding

COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) – With the Heat Dome locked in, conditions are not looking to get cooler anytime soon.

THURSDAY NIGHT: Calm conditions and tolerable temperatures tonight. Lows will drop into the lower 70s, with a mostly clear sky.

FRIDAY: Scorching temperatures for the end of the week. Afternoon highs will be back in the upper 90s to triple digits. Expect lots of sun and a few passing clouds. There is about a 10% chance for showers through the afternoon, most will stay dry. This is great news for anyone heading to HS Football games, but it will be HOT! Low temperatures will drop into the low to middle 70s.

WEEKEND: Brutal afternoon high temperatures will hold for the weekend. Both days will expect highs in the upper 90s to triple digits. There will be a few extra clouds, with an isolated chance for showers/thunderstorms through the hottest parts of the day. Overnight lows will return to the low to middle 70s.
