Alabama Congressional District 7 Primary Election Results

PICKENS COUNTY, Ala. (WCBI) – The votes are in for the Alabama primaries.

On Tuesday, the redrawn Congressional Districts 1, 2, 6, and 7 had a special election.

In District 7, including Pickens County, there was only a republican primary on Tuesday, August 11.

In the unofficial election results, Republican candidate Ammie Akin came out on top with 9,312 votes, and Republican opponent David Perry had 3,380 votes.

Akin will compete against the incumbent Democratic Representative Terri Sewell in the general election November 3.
