Man dies in workplace accident in Columbus
LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Columbus man has died in a workplace accident.
The incident happened around 7 pm Tuesday at New Process Steel in Lowndes County.
Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant told WCBI that 20-year-old Elijah Jamal Jones was working in the slitter area at New Process when the accident occurred.
Jones died from his injuries.
OSHA was contacted and has been on the scene investigating today.
