MHP reports 3 fatal accidents during Thanksgiving Holiday Travel Period

MISSISSIPPI (WCBI) – Three people were killed on state highways over the Thanksgiving Holiday Travel Period, including a person in Choctaw County.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol wrote more than 6,700 tickets and made 109 DUI arrests.

State troopers said the fatal crash in Choctaw County happened Saturday night on McGee-Thompson Road.

42-year-old Westley Ashford’s car left the road and overturned.

The Weir man died at the scene.

A person was killed after being hit by a vehicle on Highway 63 in Jackson County.

MHP was also reporting a fatal crash in Copiah County. Both of those accidents happened on Wednesday, November 22.
