MSDH reports state’s 1st confirmed child flu death this season

MISSISSIPPI (WCBI) – The Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting the state’s first confirmed child flu death this season.

Health officials did not release where the child lived or the child’s age.

Pediatric deaths are defined as people under the age of 18.

Flu season typically peaks in January and continues through March in Mississippi.

The flu shot is considered your best protection. It usually takes up to two weeks to produce immunity.
