MSU hosting preview days for prospective Bulldogs this fall

STARKVILLE, Miss.— According to an MSU press release, Prospective Bulldogs and their families can sample life at Mississippi State through a variety of recruiting events this fall.
Beginning Aug. 25, prospective students can register for the university’s annual Fall Preview Days, where high school seniors and other first-time college students learn about academics, campus life and the MSU community. Preview Days are scheduled for Oct. 12 and Nov. 9 and 23, while Transfer Preview Day for current college students is set for Oct. 23.
Specific Fall and Transfer Preview Days highlights include the opportunity to talk with faculty and staff about MSU programs and courses, hear from current students about their experiences in a variety of Bulldog communities and take a walking tour to popular campus locations.
MSU will also host Scholar Recognition Day on Oct. 19 and 26 and Nov. 2 for high school seniors who achieved an ACT score of 30 or above, or SAT equivalent. In these invitation-only events, participants will take a deeper look at the university’s Judy and Bobby Shackouls Honors College.
Registration for Fall and Transfer Preview Days opens at 9 a.m., Aug. 25, and the $10 spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants will receive a T-shirt, lunch voucher and MSU ice cream, and are encouraged to wear casual clothes and comfortable walking shoes. Registration for Scholar Recognition Day also goes live Aug. 25; however, there is no cost to attend. Formal invitations to Scholar Recognition Day with more information about how to register should be received by students in September.
All recruiting events are intended for individual participants. High schools and community colleges wishing to visit MSU with groups of students should contact the MSU Office of Orientation and Events at 662-325-2334. For more information, email events@msstate.edu.
