New blog offers insights from Columbus’ Mayor
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Columbus’ Mayor is taking a new approach to spread the word about his city.
Earlier this week, Mayor Stephen Jones launched “From the Mayor’s Desk”.
It’s a place to keep people up to date with the positive things going on in the city.
Jones wants to use the blog to share some of the stories behind the work at City Hall and recognize the people who are getting things done in Columbus.
And he wants to open a dialogue with the city’s residents.
“But we just want to have an open communication with our citizens and let them know that we are working hard for them, and we’re alos recognizing people that are doing good things, you know, whether it comes from helping with the budget. Whether it comes from, you know, somebody good at Public Works. We want to make sure all of our citizens are recognized, because these are the things that people just don’t see every day. In the day-to-day operationsof the city. you may not know what all is going on, so if we can keep you informed, then hopefully we can have a better relationship.”
The Mayor’s Office will soon be releasing more information about how people can sign up for updates.
