Only 2 counties in Mississippi remain under burn bans

MISSISSIPPI (WCBI) – Only two counties in Mississippi remain under burn bans after December 6.

Due to recent rains, most bans have been lifted or allowed to expire.

In our area, Oktibbeha County remains under a ban until noon on Friday, December 8. And just outside the viewing area, Attala County’s advisory remains in effect until December 18.

The burn ban in Clay County expired on December 6.

If you have questions about your county, call your County Board of Supervisors, or you can check the Mississippi Forestry Commission’s website mfc.ms.gov/burninginfo
