Quiet Sunday, storms return to start to the week

COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) – Sunday will be another picture-perfect day, but a storm chance comes Monday evening. Storms will last overnight Monday and into early Tuesday morning. After that, the weather will stay quiet for the rest of the week, including Thanksgiving.

SATURDAY NIGHT: The 30s make a comeback tonight after a two-week long hiatus. Lows will fall into the mid-30s with clear skies.

SUNDAY: The weekend will end on a perfect fall-like note. Similar to Saturday, we’ll have plentiful sunshine and highs in the upper 60s.

MONDAY: A system approaching from the west will bring a small chance for showers in the morning and afternoon. In the evening, a line of storms will cross over I-55 and exit our area after midnight. A few of these storms could be strong to severe and bring the risk of damaging winds and an isolated tornado. Be sure to check back for updates as we continue to fine tune the forecast!

TUESDAY: Lingering rain is possible in the morning, but otherwise it will be a dry day with overcast skies. High: 67.

REST OF THE WEEK: The cold front responsible for the storms will drop high temperatures into the 50s on Wednesday. Cool and dry weather will continue through the Thanksgiving holiday.
