Season of giving: Community partners get ready for turkey giveaway

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Over 1,000 free turkeys will be available on November 18 thanks to donations from the public.

The Community Benefit Committee and the Lowndes County Sheriff’s office kicked off a turkey drive at the start of this month and their goal was met.

You can pick up a free turkey on Saturday, November 18 at the Bankfirst Yards Sportsplex. It’s located at 1335 North Frontage Road in Columbus.

You must have a Lowndes County ID to receive a free turkey.

The giveaway event begins at 10 a.m.
