Severe storms possible Saturday afternoon and Saturday night

COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) –  Warm, unstable air in advance of a strong front will bring potential severe weather across northern MS and western AL through Saturday night.

SATURDAY EVENING: Favorable wind shear, moisture, and storm fuel (instability) will remain in place across most of the coverage area for the remainder of the afternoon & evening hours. A line of semi-discrete storms will sweep across the WCBI coverage area between 3p-10p bringing all severe hazards to the region. Gusty winds, hail, and a couple of tornadoes will be possible. We expect the severe weather threat to clear by or before midnight.
