Starkville Derby makes record-breaking attendance with 4th event
STARKVILLE, MS (WCBI)- This may have been Super Bulldog Weekend at Mississippi State, but Downtown Starkville was taken over by a different breed.
Some of the top 4-legged athletes in the country were lined up for the Starkville Derby to see who would be this year’s winner.
Alden Thornhill, founder of the event, said this year is one of the biggest events to date.
Missy Wiggington, known to many as Mama Justice, is this year’s main sponsor. Wigginton said the cause is near and dear to her heart.
Thornhill said the proceeds will go toward the Oktibbeha County Humane Society.
The Starkville Derby was named a Top 20 event by The Southeast Tourism Society in 2025.
