Video: More 'Spice' Sicknesses Reported

More patients exhibiting symptoms related to an overdose of the designer drug “spice” have been seen at the University of Mississippi Medical Center’s Emergency Department over the last two days.

Grant Expands SNAP Recipients' Access to Fresh Foods

Today the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), through its Food Insecurity Nutrition Incentive (FINI) grant program, awarded AARP Foundation a grant of $3.3 million, with an additional $1 million coming from UnitedHealthcare, to implement a multi-year $6.6 million incentive program in Tennessee and Mississippi to increase the purchase and consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables by Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients.

Public Service Commissioner Brandon Presley announced one of the largest No Call enforcement fines ever levied by the Commission. Global Financial Assist, LLC was slapped with a $1,330,000 penalty for 266 telemarketing violations reported to the Commission.
