Staying warm & dry into the weekend

COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) – Abnormally warm weather continues through the weekend. A strong front will bring big changes early next week.

THURSDAY: Status quo forecast. More sunshine is in store today with highs back in the middle 80s and a southeast breeze.

FRIDAY: Expect a mix of sun & clouds with highs in the lower 80s for most. While a couple showers could skirt northwestern MS, we don’t expect rain in the WCBI coverage area.

WEEKEND: The weather stays dry and warm both days with highs in the 80s. A strong (but shallow) front will be marching toward northeastern MS Sunday evening, which will bring an end to the warm weather.

NEXT WEEK: We expect the front to pass through during the day Monday with scattered light rain possible. The main story will be increased northerly winds and much colder air – temperatures may fall into the 50s or even upper 40s late Monday. Halloween Tuesday could see a few showers linger early, but at least partial clearing is expected by afternoon. Highs will likely hold in the 50s during the day and drop into the upper 30s after midnight.
