Staying With Extreme Heat; Some Relief In Sight!

COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI)- Extreme Heat Warnings remain in effect until Monday at 8pm for dangerous heat. Some relief in the way of rain chances this week!

TONIGHT: Mostly clear conditions tonight, but still fairly warm for overnight lows as they drop down only to the upper 70s.

MONDAY: Stay cool and have that water bottle handy as we expect another hot day as highs remain right around 100 for the area. An Extreme Heat Warning is in place through 8pm as heat index values approach near 110. Isolated storms are possible but mainly for areas north of Hwy 82 as a slow moving front drops in from West Tennessee.

RAIN CHANCES RETURN: Along with Monday, rain chances do return back to the picture for this week. They remain isolated early on, but as the high pressure that has locked in all this heat breaks down later this work week, better storm chances take place specifically for Thursday and Friday.
