Students at Joe Cook Elementary School got a sweet treat and some Halloween safety tips

COLUMBUS, Miss (WCBI)-

Students at Joe Cook Elementary School in Columbus got some timely Halloween safety tips delivered with a little star power.

Patrick Wooten and the team from Richard Schwartz and Associates dropped in to deliver a few goodies in specially designed trick-or-treat bags.

The bags are also reflective. One of the safety tips Team Schwartz delivered, wear reflective clothing or have something reflective with you so you can be better seen at night.

Of course, Team Schwartz didn’t come alone. McGruff the Crime Dog joined them to help make the message more fun.

Some of the other tips: look both ways before crossing the street; always cross at the corner, don’t go out alone, always have an adult or older sibling, and don’t go into houses of people you don’t know.

Richard Schwartz and Associates travels the state each October delivering the safety tips and treats.
