Sub-freezing temperatures return to the Mid-South

COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) – Several mornings this week see below freezing temperatures. Milder air moves in Friday and the weekend along with rain chances.

MONDAY: Our coldest day! Despite a mostly sunny sky, high temperatures will struggle to reach 50 degrees amidst northwest winds up to 15-20 mph. Lows will drop into the upper 20s overnight as winds relax and the sky stays clear.

TUESDAY: Mostly sunny and slightly warmer! Highs reach the low to mid 50s by afternoon. Our coldest night should occur overnight as lows dip into the middle 20s!

REST OF WEEK: Wednesday looks lovely with afternoon highs back in the low 60s under a sunny sky. Most of the day Thursday looks dry, but widespread rain looks to move in late Thursday into Friday. An active southwest flow in the upper levels will linger into the weekend, potentially spelling out additional rain chances for the region. Stay tuned for updates!
