Sulligent bridge revamp: Public gives input on project progress

SULLIGENT, Ala. (WCBI) – Transportation and other officials in Sulligent gave the public a chance to voice their opinions on a bridge replacement project.

The town of Sulligent plans to replace the bridge over State Route 118.

Sidewalks will be added to the project as well.

The Alabama Department of Transportation will go through a bidding process at the end of next year and construction is expected to begin at the beginning of 2025.

“We really appreciate the public for coming out. Their input is vital for these public involvement meetings. So, we’re really thankful for the community to support it,” said John McWilliams, Public Information Officer for ALDOT.

The bridge replacement project will take about 18 months to complete according to ALDOT.
